Clevedon Pier, the only Grade 1 listed pier in the country that I have been lucky enough to illustrate on multiple occasions, stretches out into the Bristol Channel from the beautiful North Somerset town of Clevedon.
It collapsed during stress testing in 1970. Following a massive fundraising effort from the local community, it was finally repaired and reopened in 1989. To mark the 50 year anniversary since its collapse, I worked with the team at Clevedon Pier to re-draw their logo. I created the logo as a vector, meaning it can be stretched to any size without losing definition. This format allowed Clevedon Pier to create signs, advertising and the beautiful plaque seen below. The unveiling of the new plaque - featuring my new logo - was reported on in the North Somerset Times newspaper. Clevedon Pier unveiled the plaque on the anniversary of the collapse. Below is the logo as well as the lovely feature in the North Somerset Times about the event. If you read down you will see a little mention of myself.
